“A perfectly restored mangrove forest with a long and beautiful slatted wooden nature trail, providing comprehensive access to the life of the mangrove trees and the animals within the ecosystem.”

Sirinat Rajini Lernzentrum für das Mangroven-Ökosystem (Sirinat Rajini Mangrove Ecosystem Learning Center) is a Royal Initiative Project of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. It is situated in an area of mangrove forest that was once degraded and has been successfully restored to its complete ecological richness. The center's objective is to serve as a hub for education, research, and eco-tourism concerning the mangrove ecosystem. The highlight here is the sturdy, slatted wooden nature trail, which winds its way through the forest for approximately 1 kilometer, allowing tourists to explore the forest conveniently and safely.

The distinct unique feature of this center is the high biodiversity that can be observed along the entire boardwalk. The mangrove forest here is an important nursery ground for aquatic life in the Gulf of Thailand. Visitors will learn about and observe various mangrove species, such as Rhizophora (mangrove) trees, Lumnitzera, and Thespesia populnea (Portia trees), as well as the animals that inhabit the mudflats up close, such as mudskippers, fiddler crabs, and various shellfish, which are key indicators of the ecosystem's health. There is also an observation tower located midway along the walkway, from which visitors can enjoy a high-angle view of the mangrove forest and the Pranburi River mouth leading out to the sea.

The main activity when visiting the center is walking the nature trail on the wooden boardwalk to learn about the ecosystem through various informative and engaging signs provided. The ideal time to visit is during low tide, which offers clear views of the animals emerging to feed on the mudflats. The atmosphere within the forest is shady and cool even during the day, as the tree canopy provides shelter from the sun. Parts of the walkway feature rest areas where visitors can sit, enjoy the view, and listen peacefully to the sounds of nature.

This learning center is highly appealing to students, scholars, and researchers seeking genuine fieldwork on the mangrove ecosystem. For families, it is an excellent place for educational and adventurous activities in a safe environment. Nature photographers will appreciate capturing the unique flora, the complex shapes of the root systems, and the movement of mudskippers on the mud. Couples or those seeking tranquility can take a relaxing walk to breathe the fresh air deeply.

We invite everyone to visit the Sirinat Rajini Mangrove Ecosystem Learning Center in Pranburi District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, which is a valuable learning resource and a model for ecological restoration back to completeness under Royal Patronage.
